Booking and cancellation terms
Petkeljärvi Center tmi is responsible for providing the services of the Petkeljärvi National Park Hiking Center, owned by Metsähallitus, as an official Metsähallitus contract partner.
Reservation, change and cancellation terms and conditions for the park ranger's hut, hiking center accommodation rooms, reservation and rental facilities, saunas, tent sites, caravan sites, and other facilities.
The person making the reservation must be 18 years of age or older.
The reservation, change and cancellation terms and conditions are valid for individual reservations made by individuals, and for group trips or events, there are additional terms and conditions for the reservation, change and cancellation terms and conditions. A group trip or event is in question if
- you are reserving more than one room
- or a campsite spot for the same time
- or you are reserving facilities for a private event
- or your group size is 10 people or more
- or in groups of less than 10 people if the reservation involves, for example, catering outside the café-restaurant's normal opening hours, renting premises for a private event, or, for example, booking a beach sauna without a paid accommodation reservation for rooms or the campsite, or other similar event or activity that takes place outside the café-restaurant's normal opening hours
- Separate child discounts are not given for the services of the catering restaurant outside the café's normal opening hours if the number of adults is less than 16 person.
By making a reservation, the customer confirms that they have read these booking terms and conditions and accepts these booking terms. Failure to pay the reservation fee or the final invoice does not mean that the reservation is cancelled, and does not release the booker from these booking, change or cancellation terms.
The reservation fee of 30% of the total price must be paid within 7 days of confirming the reservation. The final invoice of 70% is due 30 days before the arrival date. The reservation fee and the final invoice must be paid by the due dates stated on the invoice. If there are less than 30 days before the arrival date, or the value of the reservation is 50 euros or less, the entire invoice is due immediately.
The reservation is primarily made online via the petkeljarvi.fi website. The reservation can also be made at the Petkeljärvi Center customer service point, by phone or by email. When making a reservation, the customer must provide the following information, otherwise the reservation will not be valid.
- Name
- Date of birth
- Home address
- Telephone number
- Email address
The rented object or space may be used by no more than the number of people stated in the object description as the number of beds or other capacity, for example, a lakeside sauna max. 10 people / hour. For example, parties and other events where the number of people in the object is temporarily exceeded must be reported and agreed in advance and an additional fee may be charged for this.
Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas, and designated areas for this purpose are recommended for outdoor areas as well.
Pets must be reported when making a reservation. An additional fee may be charged for these.
The property must be left in a clean condition upon departure. The customer is responsible for cleaning the property during and at the end of the rental period, unless the final cleaning fee has been paid in advance.
The customer is obliged to pay the costs of cleaning the property if smoking has taken place indoors (including e-cigarettes), strong perfumes have been used that have stuck to textiles and are not removed by ventilation, cleaning and garbage removal have not been carried out or have been carried out inadequately, and Petkeljärvi Center has to carry out the final cleaning. Cleaning instructions can be found in the rental property and are also available at the reception.
Right to change prices
If the customer is charged an incorrect amount due to a technical error in the system, Petkeljärvi Center has the right to correct the error and invoice the amount corresponding to the actual rent. Correspondingly, the customer will be refunded any overpayment caused by a technical error.
Compensation for damage and lost property
The customer is obliged to compensate for any damage caused intentionally or unintentionally to the property or its movables, based on the purchase price of a new similar item, etc. and installation or transportation costs. The customer is responsible for lost keys to the property. The customer is responsible for the costs of installing new locks and having keys made. Items forgotten at the property will be stored for 30 days. Upon request, the items will be delivered to the customer via Posti or Matkahuolto. The customer is responsible for shipping and packaging costs, and a delivery fee of 20 euros is added to them.
Cancellations
If the customer has to cancel their reservation, they must immediately notify Petkeljärvi Center customer service by email at info@petkeljarvi.fi or by text message to +358414361790. Failure to pay the reservation fee or final invoice does not mean cancellation of the reservation and does not release the booker from these cancellation conditions.
If the reservation is canceled 30 days before the start of the reservation, the reservation fee will be withheld from the reservation (30% of the reservation value).
If there are less than 30 days until the start of the reservation, the customer will also be charged 70% of the final invoice, unless they have already paid it.
In cases of Force Majeure (sudden illness of the customer or their loved one, accident or death) if the customer submits a medical certificate or other official certificate within 14 days of the cancellation to the address provided by customer service, the paid reservation amount will be refunded in full, less an office fee of 20 EUR, no refunds of less than 20 EUR (incl. VAT) will be made.
Petkeljärvi Center's right to cancel the reservation
If there is a force majeure obstacle (for example, natural phenomena, power outages, etc.), we can terminate the agreement. We are obliged to notify the customer of this immediately. In this case, the customer will receive a full refund of the payments made, but the customer may be offered, for example, a postponement of the reservation to a later date. However, any other costs that the customer may have incurred as a result of the terminated agreement will not be reimbursed.
If invoices are not paid by the due date, Petkeljärvi Center has the right to cancel the reservation. Cancellations made more than 30 days before the arrival date will be charged a reservation fee. If the reservation is canceled later than 30 days before the arrival date, Petkeljärvi Center has the right to charge the entire rental fee.
Other things to note
The rental of a reservation and rental space, campsite or other similar property does not include hunting or fishing rights (permits) for the rental property or any hunting or fishing permit areas of Metsähallitus that may be located in its vicinity.
The permits required for Metsähallitus areas must be purchased separately, for example through the wilderness permits online store. Equipment rentals and activities, such as guided tours, are subject to their own booking and cancellation terms. These can be downloaded from the bottom of our homestay petkeljarvi.fi page. The accommodation day in the accommodation rooms and the Park Ranger's hut starts at 3 pm and ends at 12 pm, unless otherwise agreed.
The accommodation day in the camping area starts at 3 pm and ends at 2 pm, unless otherwise agreed. An additional fee may be charged for early arrival or late departure. Rooms, the Park Ranger's hut, and camping areas are held until 6 pm, unless late arrival has been separately agreed.
During the reservation period, the customer has the right to use the equipment of the booked object and the beds or other space according to the reservation.
The customer must have a payment receipt and reservation confirmation with which they can prove their reservation and payment. The customer must be prepared to present the booking confirmation and payment receipt to the Petkeljärvi Center staff or another supervisory authority.
Other users must be taken into account in the area and everyone must be guaranteed a peaceful night's sleep between 11 pm and 6 am. The customer is responsible for the cleanliness of the accommodation and other rented premises and the yard. Smoking and the use of disruptive intoxicants, such as alcohol, are prohibited in the rental properties. If the customer, despite requests, does not stop behaving in a disruptive manner, they may be removed from the area at the customer's own expense. If necessary, the police or border guards will be called for assistance.
The customer collects the key from the key collection point against the payment receipt. The customer returns the key to the rental property they have booked immediately after the reservation is completed. The keys are returned to the café-restaurant information desk, or if it is closed, the customer will receive case-specific instructions on using the key locker. A 50 EUR office fee will be charged for unreturned keys, and the customer is responsible for any costs incurred due to lost keys.
Comments and complaints
Any comments and complaints regarding the production of services must be made to Petkeljärvi Center without delay. If this is not possible or if a satisfactory solution cannot be found or if there is a claim for compensation, the complaint must be sent in writing within one month of the end of the reservation to info@petkeljarvi.fi
Petkeljärvi Center is not liable for any damage caused to the customer due to unforeseen force majeure or similar reasons, such as power outages or natural phenomena that are not caused by Petkeljärvi Center and the consequences of which could not have been reasonably prevented.
Comments and complaints regarding land and water areas, hiking trails and structures, and other sites managed or owned by Metsähallitus must be made directly to Metsähallitus without delay. If this is not possible or if a satisfactory solution cannot be found or if there is a claim for compensation, the complaint must be sent in writing within one month of the event to the following address: Metsähallitus, customer feedback, P.O. Box 94, 01301 Vantaa
Petkeljärvi Center and Metsähallitus reserve one month for processing feedback.
Petkeljärvi Center and Metsähallitus are not obliged to compensate for any inconvenience or expenses that the customer may incur due to natural conditions, such as insects, moles, mice or unexpected weather changes.
Changes to the above-mentioned terms and conditions apply to group bookings, otherwise the same terms and conditions apply.
Additional terms and conditions for group bookings
A group booking is in question if
- you are booking more than one room or campsite for the same time
- or you are booking the premises for a private event, for example a meeting or party room
- or your group size is 10 people or more
- or in groups of less than 10 people if the booking involves, for example, catering outside the café-restaurant's normal opening hours, space rental for a private event, or, for example, a reservation for a lakeside sauna without a paid accommodation reservation for rooms or a camping area, or other similar event or activity that takes place outside the café-restaurant's normal opening hours
- A separate space rental and staff costs may also be charged for services provided outside the café-restaurant's normal opening hours, such as meals, etc. This is affected by, for example: total value of the order, duration, number of people and season.
- There are no separate child discounts for the services of the restaurant outside the café's normal opening hours if the number of adults is less than 16 people.
A reservation fee of 30% of the total price must be paid within 7 days of confirming the reservation. The final invoice of 70% is due 45 days before the arrival date. The reservation fee and the final invoice must be paid by the due dates stated on the invoice.
For reservations over 3000 EUR, invoicing is done in three installments. 30% as a reservation fee, 40% is due 45 days before the start of the event and the remaining 30% is due 14 days before the start of the event. If the order is placed less than 45 days before the start of the reservation, 70% of the reservation will be invoiced immediately, or less than 15 days later, 100% will be invoiced immediately with a payment term of payment. Invoices are written based on the information available at that time. If additional costs are incurred as a result of the order, these will be invoiced subsequently as incurred.
Changes to the number of people for ordered catering services can be made 14 days before the event, cancellations made after this time that have already incurred preparation or procurement costs will be charged as incurred. The booker is obliged to report allergies and special diets in meal orders by name per person 14 days before the start of the event.
A reservation can be canceled 45 days before the start of the reservation.
30% of the reservation fee is non-refundable.
The remaining 70% will be refunded in full to the customer, provided that they do not involve third-party costs such as production fees or other permit or performer fees, etc. If the cancellation is made later, the fees will not be refunded. Force majeure situations will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
The booker is responsible for the costs of the group reservation they have made in full. All invoices will be sent to the address provided by the booker either as an online or email invoice if the reservation was made by phone or email as a request for quotation. Invoices for online reservations made on the website are automatically sent to the booker's email.
These booking, change and cancellation terms and conditions are valid until further notice.
