Other hiking trails

Susitaival is approximately 95 kilometers long, a trail of ridges, forests, and swamps from Möhkö, Ilomantsi, to Patvinsuo National Park. At the southern end of the route, in the village of Möhkö, there are accommodation and dining services, and at the northern end are the services of the Suomu Nature Hut in Patvinsuo National Park.

The southern end of Susitaival is part of the trail network.

Pogostan kierros 91 km

Pogostan kierros is a 91 km long circular route that circles the Ilomantsi pogosta along old hiking trails and the new Kulkijan polku hiking trail. The word Pogosta refers to the Ilomantsi church village, as well as a parish or an old tax collection area.

Pogostan kierros consists of several trails. An section from Möhkö to Särkkäjärvi wilderness hut is traversed along Susitaival. Kulkijan polku connects Susitaival and Taitajan taival from Särkkäjärvi to Kallioniemi. Along Taitajan taival, you can reach Petkeljärvi, and along Rajan polku, you continue from Petkeljärvi to Möhkö village.

The old trails Susitaival, Taitajan taival, and Rajan polku are primarily intended for hiking. The Kulkijan polku, completed in 2015, has also been designed with mountain bikers in mind.
