Other hiking trails

The Wolf Trail is approximately 95 kilometers long, a journey of ridges, forests and bogs from Ilomantsi Möhkö to Patvinsuo National Park. At the southern end of the route, there are accommodation and food services in the village of Möhkö, and at the northern end, there are services at the Suomu Nature Lodge in Patvinsuo National Park.

The southern end of Susitaipale is part of the route.

Pogosta tour 91 km

The Pogosta tour is a 91 km long circular route that circles the Ilomantsi pogosta along old hiking trails and the new Kulkijan polku hiking trail. The word Pogosta means not only the church village of Ilomantsi, but also a parish or an old tax collection area.

The Pogosta tour consists of several routes. The Susitaivalta route takes you from Möhkö to the Särkkäjärvi wilderness hut. The Kulkijan polku connects the Susitaipale and Taitaja talpale from Särkkäjärvi to Kallioniemi. The Taitaja talpale takes you all the way to Petkeljärvi, and the Raja polku continues from Petkeljärvi to the village of Möhkö.

The old routes Susitaival, Taitaja talpale and Raja polku are primarily intended for hiking. The Walker's Path, completed in 2015, has also been designed with mountain bikers in mind.
