Park ranger's hut

The park ranger's hut, as its name suggests, was originally built as a park ranger's home. The hut was built in the early 1960s and is mainly in its original condition. In September and October, the basic temperature of +15 degrees is maintained with the help of portable heating radiators, and additional heating is provided by wood-burning stoves.

• An extra bed for four in the hut's shed. The beds have mattresses and pillows. The shed can be booked in the additional services section of the booking form. The additional price for the shed is 30€/day, and the time is based on the same as the hut's rental period. It is recommended to use your own sleeping bag.
• The hut's kitchen has a wood stove with a small baking oven, a 2-burner electric hob, a microwave, a coffee maker and a kettle. Dishes and cooking utensils. A refrigerator with a freezer compartment. Dishwashing water is carried from the small Kuikkalampi and heated either in the sauna's water boiler or in a boiler on a wood or electric stove.
• Drinking water is either brought with you when you arrive or taken from the hiking center when you pick up the key.
• Two bedrooms. One has a bunk bed and a bed, bed sizes 80 x 200 cm and the other has a double bed 160 x 200 cm and a bed 80 x 200 cm. The beds have mattresses, mattress pads, blankets and pillows. No sheets. Both bedrooms have their own wood-burning stove.
• A large room with room for almost 20 people at the table. Large storage fireplace.
• No TV, radio or WiFi.
• Mobile phone reception is poor in places.
• Traditional outdoor toilet in the yard building.
• Your own traditional wood-fired sauna on the shore of the clear-water little Kuikkalampi. The sauna room has a fireplace and a washing room in the same room as the steam room. Washing water is within walking distance of Kuikkalampi.
• It is also possible to reserve a place for a camper van, caravan or tent in the yard of the hut, for an additional fee.
• Parties or inviting guests without separate agreement are prohibited.
• The price includes 1 sack (40L) of firewood / day.
• Additional firewood can be purchased in the additional services section of the booking form.
• No winter maintenance. The cabin is usually available for rent from mid-May to October-November, i.e. until the small Kuikkalampi lake freezes over and there is enough snow to make it impossible to reach the cabin by car. For late autumn situations, always inquire by phone first, 041 436 1790
• In September and October, a heating supplement of 25€/day is added to the price of the cabin with electricity.
• You can order preheating of wood-burning stoves (in September and October). The tenant will take care of the additional heating.
